| Newsflash |
The “Easter in the Fruit Bowl” promotion being conducted by the Association in Shepparton on the 28th and 29th of March is the first in the BIAV Regional Foods Program.
The major aim of the program is to encourage bakeries in Victoria to develop relationships with other food producers in their local or regional areas.
The Chairperson of the BIAV Programs and Events portfolio, Leyden Burdett from Oostra Spices said that the plan for the program was to work with the wine, cheese, fruit and olive industries to develop alliances to promote the production of regionally based foods.
Leyden said that the “Easter in the Fruit Bowl” promotion will highlight the use of a range of fruit products in baking.
We will be looking for Australia’s best Hot Cross Bun and we will also be trying to establish Shepparton as the “Fruit Tart Capital of Australia”. These will be major categories in the Association’s Baking Show to be conducted on Saturday 28th of March.
In addition to this the weekend will feature the IR Road Show, an industry dinner, a demonstration of the “Simple Simon Pie Line” by Tom Lindsay and a Sponsors Golf Day on the Sunday.
Bookings for all events are now open.
Go to our Events page to see the whole program.
